About the Project

Find Next Play is a platform where indie game developers can submit their games for free and compete in monthly leaderboards for visibility. My main focus is improving organic traffic for each game through SEO optimization.

The Problem

The indie game development scene is incredibly competitive. Developers pour their hearts into creating amazing games, but often struggle to get visibility. Most indie developers don't have marketing budgets or SEO knowledge, which means their games get lost in the noise.

Find Next Play aims to solve this by creating a dedicated space where indie games can shine and, more importantly, be discovered through search engines.

My Focus: SEO-Driven Discovery

What sets Find Next Play apart is my focus on driving organic traffic to each game. While other platforms rely solely on their own community, I'm building this platform with SEO best practices to help each submitted game rank in search results.

Game developers often overlook SEO as a traffic source, focusing instead on social media or paid ads. My goal is to give them an additional channel for visibility by optimizing game pages for search engines. Each game gets its own optimized page with proper metadata, structured data, and SEO-friendly URLs.

By improving how games are indexed and discovered through search, I'm helping developers reach players who are actively searching for games like theirs.

How It Works

Developers submit their games for free and the community votes on their favorites. Games compete in monthly leaderboards, and at the end of each month, top games are featured. The platform maintains a historical archive so past winners continue to get visibility.

Each game page includes descriptions, screenshots, platform information, and a comment section where players can engage with developers. Users can search and filter games by platform, status, and tags to find exactly what they're interested in.

The platform supports authentication through email/password and OAuth providers like Google and GitHub. Users get profiles showing their stats, submitted games, and community engagement.

Current Status

The platform is actively being developed with core features already implemented including the leaderboard system, game submissions, voting, comments, user profiles, search functionality, and responsive design.

My next focus is on expanding the SEO optimization features and analytics to show developers how much organic traffic their games are receiving through the platform.
